"Flower Queen of Wyoming" by Karla Nolan, palette knife oil painting

I guess I'm just in an Indian Paintbrush mood, as I have painted a few of them lately onto glass and then as above, with palette knife and oil paints. These are such a lovely flower -- they come in various shades of reds and oranges and I doubt that, like the red poppies of which I'm so fond, I'll ever be weary of painting them.

"Flower Queen of Wyoming" 10"x8" palette knife oil painting on canvas panel, $160 includes s&h in N. America, Paypal accepted, click button below or write KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information -- thanks for looking!!!

"Simply Red Paintbrush" by Karla Nolan, framed glass painting

ALERT: You are about to view art of a different nature. These are paintings on glass -- that is, painted directly onto glass with specially formulated glass paints. They are always framed for the protection of the glass. The paints often are transparent and sometimes opaque, giving a stained glass appearance under good light. They, like all fine art, should not be hung in direct sunlight. The photographs do not do them justice -- my colors are very vibrant. Close ups are available, just e-mail me for information (see below). In most instances, click on the actual image for an even larger image to view -- you'll see lots of different items such as marbelization, transparent or opaque parts of the work -- try it and see! Commissions are accepted.

Red wildflowers, what is it about them? Why do I enjoy them so much, both to view and to paint? The eternal mystery -- maybe it's because red is such a high energy color and I tend to be high energy, also -- or maybe it's just the wildness of the flower itself -- it pops up wherever! I don't have the answer and until I do (which will most likely be never), I'll just keep on painting them to my heart's delight!

"Simply Red Paintbrush" 10"x8" framed glass painting, measured edge to edge glass, $240 includes s&h in N. America, Paypal preferred, click below or write KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information -- Thank you for looking!

"Butternut Skies" by Karla Nolan, palette knife oil painting

These skies are those that I saw in Montana last summer -- we had such a wonderful time in that amazing state! The skies are "big sky" -- lots and lots of air space there. The dusks were delightful, all different kinds, all sort of cloud formations. This particular evening had the dark clouds coming in just over the lightness that was reminiscent to me of butternut squash. What a view to look at from our little rented abode. Delightful memories of Montana.

"Butternut Skies" palette knife oil painting on board, 8"x18", $250 + s&h to be determined at sale, Paypal preferred, click button below or write for more information at KarlaNolan@gmail.com and thank you so much for looking!!!!!

"Classic France in May" by Karla Nolan, framed palette knife oil painting

As you may be aware, one of my latest projects has been to produce a series of small paintings for a friend's boutique here in the northern part of Colorado. This is a good sized palette knife oil painting which measures 8"x10" and is then framed as shown. It is presently on the wall at EsScentuals, here in Fort Collins. This painting costs $240 and s&h is determined at time of sale. Should you be interested in this particular painting, please call EsScentuals at 970-484-7862 or write them at EsScentuals@comcast.net and someone will help you there. Thanks for looking, as always!

"Peachy Keen Skies" by Karla Nolan, palette knife oil painting

This little cutie has peach, coral, salmon, yellow skies in it -- couldn't resist making it a bright and cheery sunset over the Rockies, where I live. Colorado is never a dull place to watch sunsets, at least in my opinion, and I completely enjoy making them maybe a tad bit livelier than they might actually be in Mama Nature.

"Peachy Keen Skies" 7"x5" palette knife oil painting on canvas panel, $70 includes s&h in N. America, e-mail me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

I have always enjoyed wildflowers, especially red ones, growing in the fields and along the sides of the road in the Rocky Mountains. Wyoming has a very special state flower, the Indian Paintbrush, which is primarily red but often has orange hues, also. It does resemble a paintbrush of sorts, I guess; I just like it because it's so pretty. So....here's to Wyoming and its lovely state flower.

I recently painted a similar art work in palette knife oils on canvas and had a hankering to try it on glass. This is the result. The lime greens in the hills and fields of Wyoming last month were just incredible. The hills were full of pronghorn antelope and their babies, the skies were clear and blue much of the time -- it was Spring in the Rocky Mountains, for sure! Lovely.

"Wyoming Spring Fields", 11"x14" measured edge to edge glass framed painting on glass, $450 includes s&h in N. America, Paypal preferred, write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information and a close-up of this painting
