"Moonlit" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

"Moonlit" is a 5"x7" stained glass painting that is a rarity of sorts -- almost all blues, transparent and opaque -- and a night painting, at that. I'm told that night paintings are somewhat sparse out there -- not many of them. I sort of take that as a challenge! So -- here is a moonlit night over the mountains -- for you. (Click on image to enlarge.)

I'll in the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art holiday show in December and hope to feature some of the works for sale on this site -- holidays are just around the corner, folks, and I'm pricing these sweet paintings right!!!!!

"Moonlit", 5"x7" framed painting on glass, available at Wild Hands Art Gallery (wildhands.com)

News! I was recently accepted by Dobbin Gallery, 175 Church Street, Charleston, South Carolina, for representation in their art gallery with paintings on glass, pastels, oils and table jewelry. Please visit their gallery when in town! It's a lovely place.
...And...I was just accepted by Wild Hands Art Gallery on Pearl Street in Jackson, Wyoming, with my paintings on glass! Yaay!

"Aurora Sunset" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

I have been so intrigued with skies lately -- I'm constantly experimenting with my glass paints -- here is another sunset that I've created just for you (and me). There is mainly transparency in this piece -- much like stained glass -- but with more blending than in some of my artworks.

"Aurora Sunset", 6"x9" framed painting on glass, measured edge to edge, $175, Paypal preferred, click button below or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

"Magenta Glow Sunset" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

Now this was fun! I had a blast creating my imaginary, over the top and the mountain, sunset. I am fortunate enough to see lots and lots of mountains twilights, dusks, sunsets, and I never can get enough of them. Each one is obviously different -- Mama Nature doesn't do repeats -- and sometimes I enjoy adding a bit of my own imagination to them. Still, it's hard to top Mama Nature.

"Magenta Glow Sunset" is sold framed as shown for $125 which includes shipping and handling in North America; Paypal preferred, click button below, or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

"Yellowstone Memory 1" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

This painting on glass is a bit abstract, but really it's not! Oxymoronic, huh? We went to Yellowstone last month, my first time there, and it's so impressive! There are sulphuric springs there, full of color, that fog up, and have crusts around them. Don't forget, Yellowstone is originally a volcanic region -- So, here's my first take on one of these mudholes or fireholes.

"Yellowstone Memory 1", 5"x7" framed painting on glass, $125 includes s&h in N. America, Paypal preferred, click button below or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

"Wild Red Poppies" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

"Wild Red Poppies" is the second in a series of three paintings on glass framed in red. Why? Why, oh why, is she so preoccupied with (1) wild red flowers and (2) red frames. The answer: it's fun. So many artists take their painting efforts so, so seriously. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, mind you. My feeling, however, is that one should also have fun while painting. Red has long been my favorite color; some think it's too bold, especially in a frame. I disagree. As long as I am happy with what I am producing, and I am, hopefully that joy will convey itself through the painting and the finished product. Any thoughts on this theory? Let me know!

"Wild Red Poppies", 11"x14" red framed painting on glass, $575 includes s&h in N. America, Paypal preferred, click button below or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

"Wild Red Flowers" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

"Wild Red Flowers" -- some of my favorite wildflowers to paint and see -- poppies, Indian paintbrush, and Indian blanket (gallardia). They don't necessarily occur in the same field or geographical location, but are very lively and fun to see, especially in numbers. There are shimmering areas and opaque spots in the particular piece and it is especially appealing in good light. This painting seemed to take forever but I was determined to use a red frame for it to show off the colors of the flowers. Did I succeed? Only you can decide that one!

"Wild Red Flowers", 12"x12" red framed painting on glass, $550 includes s&h in N. America, Paypal preferred, click button below or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information
