"Poppy Pirouette" by Karla Nolan, framed painting on glass

ALERT: You are about to view art of a different nature. These are paintings on glass -- that is, painted directly onto glass with specially formulated glass paints. They are always framed for the protection of the glass. The paints often are transparent and sometimes opaque, giving a stained glass appearance under good light. They, like all fine art, should not be hung in direct sunlight. The photographs do not do them justice -- my colors are very vibrant. Close ups are available, just e-mail me for information (see below). In most instances, click on the actual image for an even larger image to view -- you'll see lots of different items such as marbelization, transparent or opaque parts of the work -- try it and see! Commissions are accepted.

I was painting to classical ballet music when I finished this piece of art and decided to name it with a ballet term -- pirouette -- it's a "turn" in ballet. I really do wish I were a ballerina still -- it was my dream as a child -- I had seen Maria Tallchief at the New York City Ballet many, many, MANY years ago. She was an "Indian" (politically incorrect, huh!) from Oklahoma and I was born in Colorado, so I felt some sort of a kinship, being a Westerner and all. I've never stopped loving classical ballet, so here is my bow or curtsy to it via my red poppies swaying in the wind.

"Poppy Pirouette", 5"x7" framed painting on glass, $135 includes s&h in N. America, Paypal preferred, click button below or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information -- Thanks for looking, by the way!

Hi Karla! so glad to see you on Twitter and I love your work. What a cool surprise to see you paint on glass! This is beautiful. I used to paint on glass but could never be this good so had to move on to other things. : )
