Inspired by J.M.W. Turner, Georgia O'Keefe, Massimo Cruciani, Edgar Degas and many others, I am pleased to be an artist painting in oils (palette knife and brush), soft pastels, paintings on glass and now watercolors. My landscapes are driven by my travel memories. My flowers are inspired by the actual thing -- I once had a pressed and dried flower business. And my skies -- my hero is Turner. What more can I say? My motto: "Life is short, use color!" I hope you enjoy my show.

Lilac Window Box in Santa Fe, painting on glass
One of my favorite places in the world is Santa Fe. I went there for the first time when I was in my twenties. We lived in New Jersey then, so this environment was a completely new one for me. The adobe, the dusty and winding roads, the lack of pretense (at least back then!) captured me. The New Mexican food is to die for! I am totally hooked on it. Cannot get enough!
A couple of years ago I saw this window box loaded with flowers. I've attempted to capture it several times and never stop having fun doing that. Once again, I've painted directly onto the glass in a combination of both transparent and opaque paints. For your enjoyment, here is that window box again! (You can see a close up of it also on my website, www.KarlaNolan.com).
"Lilac Window Box in Santa Fe", sold framed as shown for protection and security of the glass for $160 + $14.95 s&h, Paypal preferred, write KarlaNolan@gmail.com
